CNC Programmer
Simi Valley, CA
$35–$40/hr DOE

The CNC Programmer will work closely within the Manufacturing Engineering department to develop, optimize, and support CNC machining programs for precision aerospace and industrial components. This role requires strong MasterCam and SolidWorks experience, advanced machining knowledge, and a continuous improvement mindset focused on quality, efficiency, and process optimization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain CNC programs for precision machining operations using MasterCam
- Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and process plans to determine machining requirements
- Optimize tooling, machining strategies, and cycle times to improve efficiency and reduce scrap
- Standardize tooling and CNC programs to support preset tooling initiatives
- Design tooling and fixtures for manufacturing processes
- Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and part-quality issues
- Create detailed setup sheets outlining tooling, inserts, and machining instructions
- Reduce setup times and improve on-time delivery through process improvements and operator training
- Support LEAN manufacturing initiatives and apply Six Sigma methodologies for continuous improvement
- Collaborate with suppliers, operators, engineering teams, and internal customers
- Maintain accurate manufacturing engineering documentation and technical records
- Provide innovative ideas and positive support for ongoing operational improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aeronautical, Industrial, or Materials Engineering preferred
- 5+ years of experience in prototype or small-batch aerospace precision machining environments
- Strong knowledge of:
- CNC machining processes
- Cutting tools and machining techniques
- Fixture design
- In-process and final inspection methods
- Quality systems including AS9100
- Experience with SolidWorks and MasterCam is required
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Due to ITAR regulations, applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card Holder.
