POSITION TITLE: Field Engineer - Bilingual (Korean/English)
COMPENSATION: Competitive Salary + DOE

LOCATION: Baton Rouge, LA
SUMMARY: The Field Engineer (Bilingual - Korean/English) plays a critical role in supporting project execution through on-site technical coordination, quality assurance, and effective communication between field operations, engineering, and project management teams. This position is responsible for assisting with project layout, data collection, progress tracking, and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements
DUTIES OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Project Manager and Superintendent with daily field coordination, reporting and project tracking
Interpret and communicate project plans, drawings, and specifications to field personnel and stakeholders
Perform field layout, quantity takeoffs, as-built documentation and survey data management
Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, progress photos and equipment logs
Coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and field crews regarding scope of work, schedules and progress
Translate technical discussions, documentation, and instructions between Korean and English to ensure alignment across all project teams
Assist in conducting safety audits, leading toolbox talks and supporting overall site safety compliance
Track project schedules and assist with coordination of materials, equipment, and logistics
Identify and report design discrepancies, field conflicts, or construction issues and support resolution efforts
Interface with clients, inspectors, engineers and other stakeholders to facilitate successful project execution
Must follow and implement company safety policies and procedures
Complete additional task as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
2-5 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering, preferably within heavy civil, industrial, or marine environments
Fluency in both Korean and English (written and verbal) is required
Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and survey data. Proficiency with Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, and industry-related field software (e.g., HCSS, Trimble, or similar).
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, field-driven environment
Valid drivers license with the ability to travel to and between project sites as required
Must have an acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Primarily field-based, requiring regular presence on active construction sites.
May involve exposure to varying weather conditions, heavy equipment, and physically demanding environments
