The Strategic Defense Solution engineering organization in Richardson, TX is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with analog and digital design experience. The task includes PCB design, system design and integration, requirements capture and transition to manufacturing. Products include chassis adapters supporting Ethernet, video and discrete I/O, embedded processor systems and user interfaces. This opportunity is targeted toward engineers who enjoy working in a systems environment as it includes designing multiple electrical elements of a product, interacting with mechanical and software team members, developing PCB and system requirements and supporting system test teams.
This an onsite Special Access Position (SAP)
Research, develop, design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of electronic apparatus, components, or circuitry for use in electronic equipment and devices, ensuing work is completed on time and established quality and budgets are achieved.
Prepare engineering sketches or specifications to construct, relocate, or install equipment, facilities, products, or systems.
Prepare documentation including confidential descriptions or specifications of proprietary hardware or software, information on product development, introduction schedules, product costs, and performance weaknesses to track progress and analyze performance.
Perform engineering work and applied research, development, and design of new products to ensure quality standards and business objectives are met.
Analyzes and evaluates new or improved electronic components.
Work with power generation, transmission and distribution, rotating machinery, illumination, wire communication systems and servomechanisms, circuit theory, computer design and development, instrumentation, radio communications, semiconductor devices, solid state devices, and television systems.
S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
Previous professional experience in PCB or systems integration design.
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
Experience in designing digital and analog products including microprocessor systems, low-power supplies, communication subsystems.
TEMPEST design experience
Working knowledge of EMI/EMC standards for military applications.
Proven analytical skills using in circuit simulation (Matlab, LT Spice)
Knowledge of firmware development, design and test using suitable toolsets (Xilinx Vivado, ModelSim)
