Software Robotics Design Engineer

Help bring advanced robotics systems to life. Fameccanica North America is building its new Robotics & Automation Engineering Hub just north of Boston, and this role will help shape it from the ground up. As a Software / Robotics Design Engineer, you will design and implement software for advanced automation systems while working closely with the hardware. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on problem solving and wants to make an impact in a growing U.S. robotics organization. What Youll Do You will design and implement software for robotics and industrial automation applications. You will work with PLCs, motion control, robotics platforms, and HMI/SCADA systems. You will support system integration, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting. You will partner with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to deliver solutions that meet technical, timing, and customer requirements. What You Bring Strong experience in robotics, automation, and industrial software development. Experience with robot programming, PLC platforms such as Rockwell or Siemens, motion control, and HMI/SCADA systems. Experience with C#, Python, C++, simulation tools, or digital twin technologies is a plus. A collaborative, adaptable approach and excitement for building something new. Travel is expected to be approximately 15-30%, depending on project needs.
