CNC Lathe Setup/Operator

Location: Kannapolis, NC
Shift: Day Shift

Pay:   $23.00 – $27.00 per hour

About the Role
Machine Manufacture is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Setup / Operator to support precision machining operations . This role requires a hands-on machinist who can independently set up, program at the machine as needed , and operate CNC lathes while maintaining quality and productivity standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC lathes, including complete setup from print to first article
• Configure tooling, fixtures, and offsets for production runs
• Operate Doosan 480 and Doosan 420 lathes
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments
• Adjust offsets and tooling to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues to minimize downtime
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Work collaboratively with engineering, quality, and production teams

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Lathe Setup / Operator
• Hands-on knowledge of Doosan 480 and Doosan 420 machines
• Strong understanding of turning operations, tooling, and cutting parameters
• Ability to read complex blueprints and GD&T
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and other inspection tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with high-mix, low-to-medium volume production
• Basic CNC programming or program editing experience
• Familiarity with tight-tolerance machining
