Leonard Workforce Solutions is conducting a confidential search on behalf of a growing organization seeking a qualified candidate for the following position.
Our client is an established, employee-owned technology company headquartered in Tucson, AZ. They innovate, develop, and field advanced digital signal processing (DSP) products and services for the United States Department of Defense and Intelligence Community in support of national security missions.
We are seeking an Electronics Test Technician to join a multi-disciplinary R&D environment alongside electrical engineers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and analysts who collectively build custom signal processing and geolocation solutions. This is a hands on bench role focused on testing and troubleshooting a highly diverse family of electronic assemblies including circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and chassis level systems.
What You Will Do
- Test, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and install a wide variety of electronic, mechanical, computer, laboratory, and scientific systems and equipment
- Work directly from approved procedures, schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Select, set up, and operate test equipment and configure it based on test specifications
- Troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level and identify failure trends
- Help isolate problems between the test environment and the units under test and resolve them as needed
- Observe, analyze, and document test data and report results clearly to the engineering team
- Assist in the development of test procedures and supporting documentation
- Perform configuration and data management as required
- Move materials on and off testing platforms
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or AA / AS degree (or other 2 year post high school technical training)
- Ability to work directly from approved procedures, schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electronic circuits to the component level and identify failure trends
- Comfortable selecting and configuring test equipment based on test specifications
- Strong communication skills around technical issues and test reports
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced repair, manufacturing, and production test environment
- Strong team orientation
- Working knowledge of computer architectures and data protocols for networking and interfacing with test equipment
- US CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Electronic Sciences
- Hands on experience with RF / Analog, High Voltage, and Digital electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power meters
- Familiarity with testing areas including insertion loss, VSWR, phase, gain, SFDR, SNR, and harmonics across S band, L band, and X band frequencies
- Experience inspecting CCAs to IPC 610A or equivalent
- Strong experience with desktop and technical software applications
