Lead OSP Engineer - Fiber Network Design & Process Optimization- Location: Ohio-43064 Hybrid/Onsite Opportunities Available- Full Time A rapidly growing nationwide fiber infrastructure provider is expanding its engineering organization to support large-scale network expansion and modernization initiatives. The company owns and operates high-performance all-fiber networks supporting enterprise, carrier, public sector, and cloud-driven environments across multiple U.S. markets. This organization is heavily investing in scalable engineering processes, automation, and data-driven workflows to support continued growth and operational excellence. We are seeking experienced OSP Engineers who bring strong fiber engineering expertise along with a passion for process improvement, systems optimization, and engineering standardization. Key Responsibilities: Design fiber and conduit routes supporting Dark Fiber, Ethernet, DIA, WDM, SD-WAN, and FTTx services Develop diverse and resilient routing solutions leveraging existing network infrastructure Interpret municipal and jurisdictional requirements related to ROWs and easements. Perform route analysis, fiber optimization, and risk assessments using GIS and field validation. Produce engineering deliverables including splice plans, fiber paths, BOMs, and construction documentation. Review and approve construction drawings and specialized crossing designs Support field investigations and resolve routing/design challenges Process Improvement & Automation: • Standardize engineering workflows to improve consistency, speed, and quality • Identify opportunities to automate engineering documentation and reporting processes • Improve data integrity across GIS, inventory, and project tracking systems • Support continuous improvement initiatives tied to timelines, resource planning, and delivery quality Systems & Cross-Functional Collaboration: • Maintain accurate engineering records and project data • Monitor KPIs related to engineering delivery and operational performance • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders across multiple projects • Provide customer-facing project updates and engineering support • Mentor junior engineers and support engineering best practices Required Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in OSP fiber engineering, telecom construction, or network design Strong understanding of fiber construction methods and OSP best practices Experience reviewing engineering/construction drawings for municipal submissions Proficiency with GIS platforms, spatial mapping tools, and KMZ/Google Earth workflows Experience with process optimization, workflow improvement, or engineering automation initiatives Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams Preferred Skills: Experience with AutoCAD and Salesforce Visio and advanced MS Office experience Experience mentoring junior engineering resources Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field preferred What you didn't know about us: Competitive salary Health, Dental and Vision Benefits Short/Long Term Disability and Critical Care/Illness Protection Life Insurance and Retirement Plans Employee Assistance Program With this position, you will get the opportunity to work with our game changing clients and further advance your already valuable experience in the telecom industry!
