Assistant Engineering Technician-BESS

Location: Jacksonville, FL (Onsite, Local Only) Pay: $32.86/hr Type: Temp-to-Perm Work Authorization: Green Card Required

COMPANY is seeking an Assistant Engineering Technician to support civil and site development work for industrial and commercial infrastructure projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role is fully onsite in Jacksonville and supports multidisciplinary engineering teams within the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) group.

  Support engineers with drafting, modeling, and technical document updates

  Create and modify site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts

  Use CAD/BIM tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation

  
  


• 
  

  Perform basic engineering tasks: quantity takeoffs, dimensional checks, redline updates

  
  


• 
  

  Follow established standards, document control practices, and quality procedures

  
  


• 
  

  Coordinate with other disciplines to reduce design conflicts

  
  


• 
  

  Contribute to continuous improvement and accuracy of deliverables

  Must be local to Jacksonville, FL and able to work onsite 5 days/week

  Diploma or Certificate required; Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred

  1+ year of related experience

  Ability to pass preemployment screenings (background, drug screen, MVR)

  
  

• 
  

  Experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar design software

  
  


• 
  

  Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  
  


• 
  

  Interest in civil site development (grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, fencing)
