Design Engineer

Airswift is seeking a Design Engineer to support the power industry in an initial 1-year contract, with possibility to extend. This is a remote position in a 5/40 schedule. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to support the design, analysis, and implementation of utility-scale solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop electrical design packages for utility-scale solar PV and BESS systems.
• Produce and update single-line diagrams, layout drawings, and wiring schematics using AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
• Perform PV system modeling and energy simulations using PVsyst, or similar tools.
• Support design optimization, layout configuration, and system performance analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure accurate project integration.
• Assist with equipment selection and preparation of technical specifications.
• Provide engineering support through the full project lifecycle—from feasibility and conceptual design through construction support.
• Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and project requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of proven experience working on large utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects.
• PVsyst experience for PV modeling
• AutoCAD (or equivalent CAD tools)
• Strong understanding of electrical design principles and renewable energy systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
