Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer to help lead software development within the electric vehicle domain. This role focuses heavily on defining and building the digital customer experience. You must be comfortable thriving in a fast‑paced startup environment where your work shapes the company’s direction and success. You should excel in ambiguity, move quickly, and drive clarity amid competing priorities.
What You Will Do
Lead the definition, design, architecture, implementation, and delivery of software systems
Write and test system components; lead code reviews and design reviews
Own end‑to‑end code quality, including system tests, functional tests, and integration
Simplify complex problems using innovation, creativity, and strong judgment
Collaborate with UX and product teams to create new solutions that put customers first
Serve as a technical authority consulted on complex trade‑off decisions
Communicate the business impact of technical decisions and make long‑term technology choices aligned with company goals
Mentor engineers, support technical career development, and guide teams on advanced technical issues
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
12+ years of professional software development experience
10+ years programming in at least one modern language (e.g., Java or C++)
10+ years in full‑stack mobile development (Android/iOS) or modern web applications and services, primarily using Java in Linux/Unix environments
10+ years contributing to architecture, design patterns, system reliability, and scalable system design
10+ years experience with the full software development lifecycle (coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, testing, operations)
7+ years leading design or architecture for new and existing systems
