The Role
We are hiring a CNC Machine Operator to support either our Lathe or Mill department.
This position is ideal for:
- A developing machinist early in their career
- Someone with some CNC experience looking to grow
- A mechanically inclined individual with strong work ethic
- A detail-oriented person who enjoys structured, precision work
This is an operator-level role focused on running machines efficiently and consistently while developing skills over time.
Pay Range: $20 – $25 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated ability.
Compensation is based on capability, reliability, and growth potential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate CNC mills or lathes
- Load and unload parts
- Monitor cycle times and production output
- Perform in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Follow setup sheets and work instructions
- Maintain clean and organized workspace
- Communicate issues to department lead
- Support lean workflow and efficiency efforts

Career Development & Apprenticeship Opportunity: BAM participates in the Department of Labor (DOL) approved RMTMA apprenticeship program.
Qualified employees may have the opportunity to:

- Earn a nationally recognized Machinist Journeyman Certification
This pathway provides a structured development track from operator to fully credentialed machinist, with increasing responsibility and compensation aligned with demonstrated skill growth.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–5 years CNC experience (mills or lathes)
- Basic understanding of part prints and tolerances
- Experience using precision measuring tools
- Mechanical aptitude
- Exposure to ISO/AS9100 environments is helpful but not required
- Forklift experience is a plus
- Valid driver’s license (must be insurable under company policy)
