Machine Operator
Department: Machining
Reports To: Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly
Job Status: Full-Time
Schedule: M-Th 6am 4:30pm, overtime as requested on Fridays

POSITION SUMMARY
The Machine Operator operates computer numerically controlled machines such as a lathe or mill to cut, grind, drill or shape metal. The goal of the machining department is to maintain a safe work environment and produce quality parts as efficiently as possible.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform standard and repetitive sequences on parts.
Adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain tolerance requirements.
Recognize and report any program/machine malfunctions.
Deburr parts that come out of the lathe to create a smooth surface.
Operate the drill press to prepare parts for final assembly.
Check machine inserts regularly and change as needed so that parts are machined accurately.
Use various measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to perform all dimensional inspections and document as required.
Comply with safety procedures and rules.
Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work area.
Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.
Willing to assist in other areas of production as needed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: High school Diploma
Experience: Metal fabrication manufacturing environment with 6 months experience operating a CNC machine, preferred.
Computer Skills: Basic knowledge of a computer or cell phone is helpful.

Blueprint Reading
- Read measurement tools: calipers, micrometers and tape measure.
- Operate tools: disc grinder, allen wrench, bore gauge, and various hand tools
