Position Summary:

  • RGBSI A&D is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to serve as an engineering & manufacturing professional for RGBSI A&D across various programs requiring product/process design and manufacturing knowledge.
  • This role will support the optimization of supplier relationships and their manufacturing processes by conducting supplier audits, supporting accurate completion and review of quality process documentation, and driving process improvements at the supplier level.
  • Your role will involve collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to drive improvements in the supply chain while developing your expertise in advanced manufacturing technologies and supplier management.
  • The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for implementing, analyzing, and reviewing the procedures and processes involved in manufacturing and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform and review design failure mode and effects analyses (DFMEA) and process failure mode and effects analyses (PFMEA) to identify and assess design and manufacturing risks
  • Conduct and review analyses of part production processes, schedules, methods, and other data to implement process controls and better understand future requirements needed for customers' manufacturing processes
  • Provide technical advice to suppliers and clients for meeting AIAG / AS9145 PPAP and AS9102 FAI requirements
  • Identify and qualify new manufacturing sources of supply for difficult to procure components
  • Drive suppliers' execution required documentation to meet PPAP/FAI accuracy and schedule requirements
  • Contribute to technical execution of projects around focus areas of Industry 4.0 / Digital Factory / Model Based Enterprise / Advanced Manufacturing / Additive Manufacturing
  • Perform accurate / professional documentation and presentation of technical data, analyses, and reports
  • Review manufacturing instructions, methods, and processes to identify and improve customer efficiency
  • Develop process strategy documentation outlining the technical and process changes and analyses
  • Support active feedback between customers and the RGBSI A&D team to drive improvements
  • Partner effectively with RGBSI A&D project/ program management, technical team, and customer to deliver according to agreed plans and schedules
  • Support the development and improvement of manufacturing work instructions
  • Validate suppliers' production test run data to validate key performance indicators (e.g., Cpk, run-at-rate)
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of issues as they arise and initiate corrective actions
  • Manage deliverables and execute tasks according to schedule with minimal oversight
  • Work with suppliers to establish a project schedule and hold suppliers accountable for meeting deadlines
  • Take part in training programs to enhance your knowledge of supplier development, quality control processes, and advanced manufacturing technologies

Requirements:

  • 2+ years related manufacturing / quality engineering experience
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently
  • Experience in GD&T
  • Experience with assembly, inspection, and testing of machined, forged/cast, or fabricated aerospace parts
  • Demonstrated time management skills
  • Experience in creating, editing, and controlling PFMEAs and Control Plans
  • Skills to communicate complex ideas effectively and work with business and technical stakeholders
  • Excellent verbal communication, interpersonal, and influential skills
  • Availability for travel to customer locations as required; estimated at up to 50% - client dependent
  • Understanding of APQP / FAI / PPAP requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical field (Education Substitution: 4 years related experience)

Desired Qualifications:

  • LEAN, Six Sigma, or other process certifications
