OverviewLiRo-Hill is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join our Environmental Programs Division, supporting high-priority environmental initiatives and capital projects aligned with New York State's climate and sustainability goals.
This role involves technical engineering support and project coordination across a variety of environmental project types, working collaboratively with internal teams and public sector stakeholders throughout the full project lifecycle.
Responsibilities- Manage and support environmental engineering projects including water systems, wastewater treatment, site planning, hydraulic/hydrologic studies, permitting, hazardous materials, and infrastructure (dams, floodwalls, bridges)

Review and develop technical studies, specifications, and contract documents, ensuring compliance with regulatory and project requirements

Provide project management support from site investigation through bid/award and construction, including progress meetings, submittal reviews, and design coordination

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, agencies, and stakeholders, and assist with oversight of junior engineers and technical staff

Bachelors Degree in Engineering

Proof of passing the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (FE).

Minimum 4 years of environmental engineering design experience

(Master's degree may substitute for 1 year)

Ability to manage multiple projects using established controls and procedures

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Experience coordinating across multiple disciplines/trades

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Access and Power BI a plus

Demonstrated interest in sustainability and resiliency within the built environment.
- Qualifiying Engineering Degrees include Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Systems/Resources Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geological/Geotechnical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Sanitary Engineering, Soil & Water Resources Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, Engineering Science (with relevant concentration), or related disciplines.
Compensation

$105,000 - $115,000 (based on experience)
